Scandinavian designer furniture is known all over the world with many established brands – so what makes Nordic Furniture Group (NOFU) different?
Sustainability, speedy production and delivery together with exquisite craftmanship are just some of the keywords that describe NOFU.
NOFU is a relatively new brand, founded in 2017, but is already a well-known brand that sells to many national and international customers. The aim is to differentiate from the competitors by having a strong focus on sustainability and a highly efficient order management and distribution concept that focus on make-to-order production. NOFU wants to make an end to the many challenges with inventory binding and has therefore developed a new management system to prevent this.
Make it simple
NOFU is utilising the increasing demand for custom-built products and creates handmade designer furniture in sustainable ash wood. Moreover, the Danish brand has developed a much simpler supply chain that enables a new way of delivering furniture to happy customers. The new order management system coordinates the entire fulfilment process — from order collection, inventory and delivery visibility to service availability.
Funding to speed up…
However, making this setup with a short delivery time demands investments in digitalising the processes and in the supply chain. Therefore, NOFU contacted Nordic Innovators to get some help with their Innobooster application as getting funding will accelerate the process. In September 2020 NOFU got the good news from Innovation Fund Denmark and received a grant from the Innobooster programme.
