Understand the Difference Between
Small and Large Innobooster
Which one fits your project?
When applying for an Innobooster grant, you must choose between a Small Innobooster (DKK 200,000 to 1M) or a Large Innobooster (DKK 1M to 5M). The choice depends on your project’s size, level of innovation, and ambitions.
Small Innobooster (DKK 200,000 – 1M)
- State Aid: Grants are awarded under the EU de minimis regulation. A company can receive a maximum of €300,000 in de minimis aid over three fiscal years.
- Project Requirements: Suitable for smaller development projects, proof of concept, or prototypes. Projects must be innovative and knowledge-based.
- Salary: Covered at a fixed rate of DKK 750 per hour for both owners and employees.
- Pitch: Normally, no pitch is required. However, applicants may be invited to present before a panel in specific cases, such as
* If the company has already received significant funding from the Innovation Fund
* If the total funding exceeds DKK 2M within three years
* If the evaluators cannot reach an agreement.
Large Innobooster (DKK 1M – 5M)
State Aid: Grants are awarded under the EU General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER).
Project Requirements: Projects must fall under experimental development or industrial research. This means the project should have a high level of innovation and involve advanced research or development elements.
Salary: Covered based on the actual salary, including pension, holiday pay, and ATP, but capped at DKK 1,000 per hour.
Pitch: All applicants are required to present their project to a panel.
