Xecs is a EUREKA Cluster call focused on collaborative and innovative projects in electronic components and systems (ECS). The focus is on sustainable digital transformation, and the call gives extensive opportunity to generate project ideas, build collaborative consortia, and carry out projects – with events organised to support the process.
Key characteristics of eureka Xecs
Xecs projects are typically industry-led and aim to deliver impactful innovations that can be commercialized, enhancing Europe's leadership in ECS technologies.The project volume ranges of EUR 2-80 million for each project, at a funding rate of 40-60%, up to 3-years project duration.
Xecs aims to support European technological sovereignty by driving advances in ECS technologies, which are critical for sectors such as automotive, healthcare, smart cities, and industrial automation.
Focus Areas: Microelectronics, smart sensors, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technologies, and connectivity.
Who Can Apply?
The Xecs call is open to all - therefore, it targets SMEs, Large Enterprises, Universities as well as research centres and Public institutions promoting cross-border partnerships within and beyond Europe involved in EUREKA. Funding is available only to participants from the supporting Eureka countries, requiring a consortium of min. two Eureka countries.
Xecs offers networking tools and support, organises ECS community events where participants can share project ideas, build consortia, and join initiatives that leverage their expertise and capabilities.
When is the Deadline?
Eureka Xecs has a two-stage application process with the following deadlines:
1. Submission of a project outline presenting the concept and receiving initial feedback from technical experts and national funding authorities.
Deadline: 22 January 2026
2. Successful outlines are then invited to the second stage - the full project proposal.
Deadline: 16 April 2026
