MUDP's Focus Areas and Themes
MUDP supports projects that address some of Denmark’s most pressing environmental and climate challenges. The MUDP programme focuses on technologies and solutions that can accelerate the green transition, strengthen the circular economy and improve environmental protection across sectors.
Below are the key themes prioritised by MUDP:
1. Circular economy and sustainable resource use
Reuse and recycling of plastics, textiles, and construction materials as well as the development of bio-based materials, low-emission products, and environmentally friendly packaging.
2. Water and wastewater
Technologies for purification, reuse and efficient water management (e.g., removal of PFAS, micropollutants, and wastewater treatment).
3. Air pollution and emissions
Solutions that reduce emissions of particles, NOx (nitrogen oixides), and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) (e.g., reducing ultrafine particles from wood stoves, transport, and airports).
4. Soil contamination and hazardous substances
Remediation of contaminated soil and substitution of harmful chemicals.
5. Biodiversity and nature
Technologies and digital tools for monitoring and improving ecosystems and the marine environment.
6. Climate adaptation and nature-based solutions
Technologies that strengthen the resilience of nature and reduce climate impacts (e.g., climate-efficient water recirculation, flood prevention, drought adaptation).
7. Cross-cutting theme: Data and digitalisation
Use of data, IoT, and AI to document and optimise environmental impact.
