About EUDP
The Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) provides grants to support Danish, green and innovative energy projects that can contribute to Denmark's goal of 70 % CO2 reduction in 2030 and climate neutrality in 2050.
EUDP funds both enterprises and universities that demonstrate new green energy technology. Available funding for the first round in March 2025 is set to DKK 300 million. The funding is split the following activity types:
Research: New knowledge acquisition. TRL 2-4
It is considered positive if research training (PhD) is included in a project with a high research content.
Development: Application of knowledge to produce or improve new materials, products, processes, methods, systems or services. TRL 4-6.
Demonstration: Experimental testing of a technology and market pre-introduction. TRL 6-8.
Grants are given to both companies and universities, EUDP has previously supported small as well as large projects up to DKK +50 million.
What Types of Projects Are Supported by EUDP?
The EUDP supports the following activities:
* Development and demonstration, including research
* Feasibility studies
* The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership)
* Technology Partnerships
* Dissemination projects.
Projects should demonstrate a high level of technical maturity, strong market potential, and a clear pathway to commercialization.
When is the EUDP Deadline?
EUDP is a two-yearly round programme with calls being published around March and September each year.

Successful Application & Funding Rates
A successful EUDP application requires both strong innovation and strict compliance with formal rules. Projects must be Danish-anchored, financially sound, and clearly contribute to Denmark’s green transition. To convince evaluators, applications must combine technical excellence, market relevance, and measurable impact while following the official templates and annex structure.

EUDP Themes ( Strategy 2024-2027)
EUDP projects must align with Denmark’s climate priorities by advancing one or more of the programme’s seven strategic themes.
While the scheme is technology-neutral, proposals are expected to show clear relevance to these focus areas. Together, they cover the full energy transition: From green electricity and PtX to energy efficiency, heat, flexibility, and carbon capture.

The EUDP Evaluation and Grant Process
The EUDP programme uses a transparent, expert-driven evaluation process to ensure only high-quality projects receive funding.
Applications are judged on innovation, market potential, impact, organisation, and feasibility. Once approved, projects follow strict agreements, reporting, and payment procedures to secure both progress and accountability.
