Siemens Gamesa Secures EUDP Grant
As one of our trusted and long-term client and global leader in wind energy, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) continues to push the boundaries of turbine innovation.
Over the years, our consultants have successfully supported SGRE in securing Danish large-scale EUDP applications (Energy Technology Development and Demonstration), however, the FINESSE project is the most recent winner (EUDP Round II 2024).
The FINESSE project Tackles
Wind Turbine Standstill Instabilities
Large modern wind turbines face costly challenges from aeroelastic vibrations during idling and standstill conditions, which are not covered by today’s testing protocols. Together with the Danish Technical University, SGRE will develop the SAVOIR test system. , a unique framework combining advanced modal exciter technologies and multi-level modelling to predict and mitigate these instabilities. Tested at the Østerild prototype site, SAVOIR will enhance turbine robustness, reduce failures, and lower non-planned costs for both onshore and offshore fleets. The project runs 2024–2027.
Nordic Innovators Has Great Wins With EUDP
Nordic Innovators provides expert support throughout the EUDP process, from concept shaping and proposal writing to compliance and implementation. We ensure projects like FINESSE are well-positioned to secure funding and deliver measurable impact.
