Grasp secured Soft Funding
and NOK 4 million in Dept Financing
Through strategic advising and proposal writing from Nordic Innovators and Nordic Innovators Corporate Finance, Grasp has received soft funding from Norwegian Research Council for its Pilot Health project and dept financing of NOK 4 million. With Grasp's solutions, medical self-reporting has never been easier.
Accurate self-documentation Crucial for Proper Treatment
Chronic pain is a growing problem, with 30% of Norwegian adults struggling with prolonged pain. Additionally, up to 90% of a doctor's decisions regarding medication and treatment are based on the patient's own descriptions. Therefore, accurate self-documentation is crucial for proper treatment. The challenge is that self-reporting is often perceived as cumbersome and is rarely documented in real-time. This is what Ingvald Grindheim and his talented team sought to address. With Grasp, digital self-reporting becomes easy, contributing to more tailored medication and treatment and thus easing the pressure on healthcare queues.
Digital Self-Reporting Through a Simple Squeeze
The Pilot Health project involved the development of the Grasp Device, Grasp Software Provider Platform, and Apps for patients, customized for each product. The Grasp Device is designed to fit comfortably in the hand or to be stored in a pocket, making it easily accessible and versatile. With the Grasp Device, patients can register symptoms through handshakes of varying strength to indicate the severity of the symptom. The handshakes are recorded and transmitted to the Grasp Provider Platform, visible on the patient's mobile phone through a mobile app. This makes it easier to accurately describe to a doctor or other healthcare professionals when, to what extent, and how frequently symptoms occur. Grasp can be used to register both physical and mental pain or other symptoms. The application is broad, allowing Grasp to be personalized for each patient on a more individual level.
Grasp has evolved significantly in just a few years, and their solutions are well-established especially within the dental industry.
