Transforming Industrial Maintenance
with Magnetic Neurons & GenAI
Golana Computing, a deep tech spin‑off from the Spintec‑CNRS research lab in Grenoble, has been developing magnetic neural technology for several years. Their expertise in physics, magnetism, micro‑electronics and machine learning has enabled them to turn fundamental research into practical solutions.
In February 2026 the start‑up’s efforts were recognised when Golana PdM Suite was selected for the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, the EU’s flagship programme supporting high‑risk, high‑impact innovations. This makes Golana one of the champions of the GenAI4EU challenge, which aims to create European leaders in generative AI. Equally important to their success was the close collaboration with Nordic Innovators, whose guidance and partnership helped shape their proposal and strategy.
About Golana PdM Suite
Golana’s flagship product addresses a pressing industrial need: reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance inefficiencies that cost heavy industry around €1.4 trillion every year. Their Golana PdM Suite combines advanced sensor hardware and a bespoke generative‑AI assistant to detect faults early and recommend actions. The proprietary algorithms deliver deep‑learning accuracy while using far less data and compute than conventional systems. This means asset‑agnostic, energy‑efficient predictive maintenance that is easy to deploy across factories.
How to be Successful with EIC Accelerator
The EIC Accelerator is one of Europe’s most competitive funding programmes. It offers grant financing of up to €2.5 million and the possibility of additional equity investments ranging between €1 million and €10 million from the EIC Fund. Beneficiaries also gain access to Business Acceleration Services, which connect them with global partners, coaches, investors, corporates and experts.
To succeed, companies must present a genuinely disruptive project along with a compelling proposal and pitch that meet the programme’s strict criteria for excellence, impact and high risk. That is why Golana partnered with Nordic Innovators. Together we refined their business plan, clarified the market opportunity and crafted a narrative that showcased the solution’s benefits without divulging sensitive technical details. The Golana team was proactive and responsive, providing essential input throughout the process.
Securing the EIC Accelerator grant
Winning the EIC Accelerator grant means more than receiving funding – it signals a commitment from the European Union to support commercialisation. The funds will enable Golana to hire key talent, finalise product development and expand pilot installations across Europe. By reducing the cost of predictive maintenance and giving maintenance teams clear, explainable insights, Golana’s technology has the potential to cut emissions, reduce waste and improve competitiveness in sectors ranging from manufacturing to energy.
Our role does not end with the grant award; we will continue to assist Golana as they scale their solution and bring magneticneuron‑ predictive maintenance to market. Their journey exemplifies how a unique project, strong partnership and strategic application can unlock the full potential of the EIC Accelerator.
Nordic Innovators is proud to have supported Golana on this journey and looks forward to seeing their magneticneuron‑ intelligence transform industrial operations across Europe.
