A Unique Project and Close Collaboration

In March 2024, our long-term client, Gedea Biotech AB was selected for the €2.5M EIC Accelerator grant. By working hand in hand, we were able to assist in the development of their successful proposal and pitch interview, ultimately securing the funding for the continued development and commercialisation of pHyph.

The key to their success is of course attributed to their unique, innovative project, pHyph, but also to the close collaboration between our teams.

About pHyph

pHyph is a global breakthrough antibiotic-free treatment for both bacterial and fungal vaginal infections, addressing a significant need for over 400 million women worldwide every year. Current treatments have numerous side effects, high risk of recurrence and can lead to development of antimicrobial resistance. pHyph has shown a clinical cure rate for bacterial vaginosis in line with antibiotics on the market, with a superior safety profile and without causing secondary vulvovaginal candidiasis infections, a common side effect of antibiotics. The results for fungal vaginal infections are promising.

How to be Successful with EIC Accelerator

To achieve success with the highly competitive EIC Accelerator programme, it is of course crucial to have an innovative project that can make a real impact in the European market and even worldwide. 

Moreover, you need to write a compelling proposal that meets all the criteria – and this is why Gedea Biotech AB approached Nordic Innovators. Our dedicated and experienced team collaborated closely internally and with Gedea Biotech AB to secure finalization of a successful application. Our client was very much involved, proactive and committed throughout the process and was eminent to provide the right input when needed.

Applying for an EIC Accelerator grant is never an easy process, however, it was a good process and there was time to discuss and collaborate which led to the high-quality and successful application. The funding will not only strengthen Gedea Biotech AB but also support their efforts in bringing pHyph to market.
