Got an Innobooster Grant to New Technology

With the help from Nordic Innovators, DeafTawk has successfully applied for an Innobooster grant to reach its goal of developing an AI-avatar for automatic sign language translation. The technology consists of a generative AI "plugin" model, trained with deep machine learning to create an optimal language translation from sign language into oral and written language, and vice versa.

A Great Demand 

Per 9000 deaf or hard hearing person, there is one translator, costing on average up to 13,4 euros per 15 minutes for translator work. The addressable market is 93,2 million people worldwide, considering deaf or hard hearing adults who uses the internet and smartphones. According to DeafTawk's own surveys, 95% of users believe that the service they provide is an urgent need.
