Innovative Lightweight EV Technology
Secures Innobooster Funding
A strong collaboration with Nordic Innovators has led to two successful Innobooster grants for Airy Automotive
The Danish startup, Airy Automotive, is on the mission to redefine what it means to drive an Electric Vehicle (EV) and how it impacts our environment by developing ultra-lightweight and sustainable EV components for global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Breakthrough with the First Innobooster Grant
In 2024, Airy Automotive secured its first Innobooster grant with
the support from Nordic Innovators. The funding enabled the development of their cars’, AIRY’s superior chassis, built from
ultra-lightweight carbon fibre-reinforced plastic and powered by
their FIBER DRIVE technology.
By combining carbon fibre and glass fibre composites, AIRY will reduce weight without compromising strength of the chassis. This will result in lower CO₂ emissions than any other EV on the market and a driving range of over 1,000 km, meaning that people can travel farther using fewer resources and less money.
Expanding on the success
– A Second Innobooster for Battery Pack Structure
The success of the FIBER DRIVE platform opened new doors with global OEMs who expressed a need for a lightweight, cost-effective, and sustainable EV battery pack structure — a solution not yet available on the market.
Once again, Airy Automotive turned to Nordic Innovators. With our support, they recently secured a second, this time large Innobooster grant — to leverage their experience from the chassis development to create a next-generation 3D-printed Battery Pack Structure using their FIBER DRIVE technology.
Stronger Together
Airy Automotive is a great example of how the right guidance and support to strategic innovation funding can accelerate a company’s vision. Our sister company, Nordic Innovators Corporate Finance, also supported AIRY at the DanBAN pitch event.
