Bernat has a BSc. in Liberal Arts & Sciences and a MSc. in Neuroscience & Cognition both from the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands). He obtained a PhD in the field of Experimental Neurosciences from the University of Bordeaux (France) and the University Medical Center Amsterdam (The Netherlands), as one of the “Twinning Cum Laude projects” of the ENC-Network. Formerly, he designed a new method to collect multilingual speech data. Using this new method, he monitored and participated in the data collection for the Special Task Force (STF) 326 of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). As innovation consultant, Bernat’s experience ranges from preparing feasibility studies (including a business plan) to writing proposals for the Horizon 2020 SME-Instrument (Phase I and Phase II). He has specialist knowledge of the linguistic, ICT, biological, and medical sectors.
